Hello! My name is Izabella Ortiz, thank you for taking the time to visit my page. Here you can find out more information about who I am as a student-athlete, including updates, videos, and photos. First a little about me, I am 16 years old and a junior at Otay Ranch High School. I am currently playing for Storm VBC 17 Elite. I am in my 7th year of playing club volleyball. Previous years, I played at Coast Volleyball Club on Elite teams. This past high school season at Otay Ranch High I played my third year on Varsity. As of my sophomore year, I I have transitioned from playing Middle Blocker to Right Side for both my Club and High School teams. In addition, I am playing Outside Hitter on my club team this season.
Having the ability to successfully play different positions as well as being able to hit a variety of sets makes me an asset for any team. I pride myself on being coachable by making corrections based on coach's feedback and reviewing videos to identify areas to improve on. In addition, I believe the mental aspect of the game is crucial and I work on ways on maintaining a positive mindset and mental toughness to both compete under pressure and come back from errors.
I also have a strong academic focus and currently have a 4.4 GPA which includes Advanced Placement (AP) and college courses. Keeping academics a priority while managing an intense volleyball and training schedule is very important to me.
